The course instructor Rob was very sharp, the kind of person I know I learned from and he gave much to the course to make it a world class experience. I am inspired to continue working with and learning Python. This was overall amazing.
I wish I had taken this course years ago when I started learning R. I'm much more confident now and I'm not even halfway through the course.
Thank You!
Applied Data Science Methods for Social Scientists offers a good, basic introduction to a variety of modern data science techniques and programming languages in which to implement them. The instructors also identified useful external resources to deepen and enrich the course curriculum, including both technical documentation and examples of applied methods. Most importantly, I came away from the course with new information about data science techniques that I can use immediately in my research.
I found the course to be a thorough, structured, and well-planned-out introduction to visualizing data in the R ecosystem. Martin, the course instructor, developed appropriate examples that spanned a range of social science data visualization contexts. His detailed explanations of various components in the R ecosystem would be helpful for beginners and novices alike. Overall, this is a fantastic introduction to data visualization concepts in social science research.
I’m currently taking the SAGE Campus ‘Introduction to Python for Social Scientists’ course. I’m two lessons into the second module and I’m already wishing I learned this months ago. Honestly, if you work with data, beg your institutions for access to this course
