Have you ever struggled to get quality materials from generative AI tools such as ChatGPT? Have you heard the hype but not yet found ChatGPT to be useful?

Then it may be time to take our new, free course on how to master interacting with ChatGPT, available now on the Sage Campus Demo Hub. This short and practical course will help you better understand not only how ChatGPT works but how to get the most out of it.

“Many of us want to use ChatGPT effectively, but we get stuck on the prompting! And if we can’t write quality prompts then we won’t get quality outputs. We made this course to empower learners to get the results they need from ChatGPT – and above all, use it effectively and ethically.” Rachel Crookes, Associate Director Sage Campus

The course has been developed by Dr Leo S. Lo, Librarian and expert in AI literacy, and showcases Dr Lo’s unique CLEAR framework – a new and robust approach for developing Gen AI prompting skills. The course covers:

  1. How pattern recognition powers AI conversations

  2. How to use a specific framework (and the CLEAR principles) to have effective AI interactions

  3. How to use simple but effective prompt engineering skills to generate more coherent AI dialogues

What is the key to writing effective prompts?

Quality prompts need to be concise, logical and explicit. Using a mix of practical activities and examples, the course gives you the chance to practice writing and refining prompts for different scenarios. We’ve included tips and hacks for supercharging your prompts, as well as guides to the kind of output ChatGPT can give you depending on what you need.

Whether you’ve never used ChatGPT or you’re already familiar and want to level up your skills, this course has something to teach you!

If your institution already has access to Sage Campus, the course is available on our platform. If you do not have access to Sage Campus, you can access it via our demo hub.
