As part of our ongoing commitment to providing top-notch courses to help our users, we’re thrilled to be re-launching revised and updated Sage Campus courses.
This year, we have meticulously enhanced our curriculum to better meet the evolving needs of students, lecturers and librarians. Whether you’re looking to deepen your research skills, explore new methodologies or stay on top of your field, our updated courses are designed to equip you with the tools to help you succeed.
Below will delve into what’s new, what’s improved, and how Sage Campus continues to lead the way in online learning.
What’s New?
Research Questions Elaborated: Our updated courses hone in on specific and useful skills such as formulating research questions, by providing extended guidance on crafting them to be as compelling and comprehensive as possible. This will help define research focus with precision and efficiency.
AI Explored and Applied: The world of Artificial Intelligence is growing rapidly so it was a priority for our instructors to implement this throughout our courses. We have included practical ways to discover AI and tools and techniques to use within research projects. Our updated courses demonstrate how AI can streamline research processes, enhance accuracy, and open new pathways for exploration.
Helpful Tips: Our instructors have added more helpful tips with actionable advice and practical tips designed to simplify complex concepts and improve the learner journey. From study techniques to project management strategies, these helpful tips are dotted throughout many of the courses so look out for them!
Key Terms and Extended Glossaries: To ensure having a strong grasp on subject matters and difficult topics, we’ve expanded our glossaries to include definitions and explanations of key terms that might be tricky for introductory level students to wrap their heads around. This resource will help build vocabulary in the subject area and deepen understanding of varying topics.
Global Perspectives: Campus curriculum now features studies and examples from a diverse array of countries, moving beyond a UK-centric approach to provide a more global perspective. This inclusivity enriches the learning experience but also improves the material for instructors, offering a broader understanding of how different cultures and regions use different methodologies and why.
Real World Examples: Our instructors have aimed to apply theoretical concepts in practical settings within the real-world. For instance, discover how Python can be used to solve workplace problems, from automating tasks to analyzing large datasets. This will in turn, make learning directly applicable to profession life!
Additional Resources: A selection of further reading materials and journal articles have been added on top of existing resources to deepen insights into topics covered throughout out courses and to explore beyond the basics.
Updated Videos: A selection of videos explaining processes or concepts have been refilmed to meet the changes in research that have arisen. For example, screencasts of using R have been adjusted to align with the up-to-date functions from the programme.
Revision Learning Features: To help with revision and learning concepts quickly, we have weaved interactive tools such as flashcards and quizzes throughout our courses. These features are designed to make studying more engaging and test knowledge to reinforce key concepts.
Challenging Biases: Critical thinking and the importance of recognizing and challenging biases in research in becoming increasingly necessary, which is why we have included reminders and tools to help learn how to identify them in research. These strategies will help minimize the impact bias can have and ensure research remains objective and credible.
Improved Accessibility: Concepts and theories are now explored visually with graphs, charts and images to help interpret and present data more effectively. Complex information can be hard to retain so our designers have implemented different features to make the learning experience as varied and as exciting as possible.
Workbooks and Activities: Comprehensive workbooks filled with activities to help with structuring writing have been added to some courses. From working on a research proposal to constructing a literature review, these activities provide step-by-step guidance to ensure well organized and structured research.
Overall, we have spent a lot of time making sure we are updating necessary elements of these courses to keep online learning fresh and exciting, whilst sticking with the technological times of academia. It’s exciting to watch educational resources expand and we want to follow suit!
