Learn how to show what you want to say and create the right user experience.

Developing your Design Solution: Annotation, colour and composition

Learn how to offer the right level of assistance, apply colour for leigibility and organisation, and consider the layout of all your contents.








There are no technical nor knowledge-based prerequisites for this course. The most critical attribute is your curiosity - an instinct for and interest in discovering and sharing insights from data - and your appetite to find a fresh approach to communicating data through visual representation and presentation. This course is aimed at people from all backgrounds, organisation types and domain areas. It is designed to be accessible and useful for all participant demographics with a role or interest in communicating with data.

The course is structured around a proven visualisation design workflow delivered through four modules that incrementally build up your knowledge and confidence in this subject. Week-by-week, you will build up a detailed understanding of all the different aspects of decision-making that go into any data visualisation design work from a range of creative, analytical, and journalistic perspectives.

How is the content delivered?

The content is delivered through a blend of teaching and assessment activities to maximize your learning opportunities.

Will I be able to get help during the course?

There is a course forum which we encourage you to use to connect with your fellow learners. Your course instructor Andy will be periodically checking in on the forum discussions to offer guidance where needed.

Do I need to install any software?

No, you do not need to install any software. All you need is a computer (or tablet) and internet connection.

How long will I have access to the course for?

You have access to the course materials for 3 months.

Will I get a certificate?
